Alimlive is a terrible Online Quran company

I started using AlimLive in March 2023 and I stopped using AlimLive in March 2025. That’s 2 years of continuous use. When using Online Quran providers like AlimLive, there is a massive element of chance involved. It all depends on the quality of the teacher which you get sometimes you will get great teachers and sometimes you will get a not-so-great teacher. The first teacher I got with AlimLive was polite but not a very good teacher, he was very disorganised, and my children were not making much progress as they were being jumped from one topic to another in what seamed like a random fashion. Luckily this first teachers’ availability changed a month after starting and he was no longer available to give classes on AlimLive. To this day I don’t know what happened with our first AlimLive teacher. In April 2023 we were given a new teacher by AlimLive and we remained with this teacher for almost 2 years.

Unfortunately, the new teacher AlimLive provided behaved in an acceptable way, and I confronted him about the unacceptable behaviour and I made it clear to him that such behaviour was not going to be tolerated. The new AlimLive teachers’ response to my objection of his unacceptable behaviour made a bad situation worse. This incident occurred at the start of Ramadan on the 02/March/2025 and on that same day I informed AlimLive of the incident and I told AlimLive I would like to end the classes as it was Ramadan and term time, and we were going to pause lessons any way due to iftar and taraweeh etc.

AlimLive takes monthly fees in advance at the end of each calendar month. This means that I had already paid the entire fees (£58) for the month of March but I only used one lesson 1 of the 16 lessons I had paid for. Basic math dictates that £58÷16 lessons = £3.63/lesson. This means that I was owed a refund for the £3.63×15 = £54.38. I asked AlimLive for my refund beginning of Ramadan/March. That Ramadan I was travelling so I got busy and I didn’t get the chance to follow up the refund. I was only reminded by bank statement when I saw that another standing order of £58 had been automatically transferred to AlimLive account on the 25/March because I had forgotten to stop the standing order.

In April I contacted AlimLive again about my previously outstanding refund of £54.38 as well as the new accidental money transfer of £58 which happened after termination of service. That’s a total of £112.38 that AlimLive owes me in refunds. Unfortunately AlimLive’s owners response was...
